Tis' The SeasonThe Christmas season has arrived ~ this is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the pretty lights, the Christmas music, the time with family, the special Christmas Eve Communion Services, the little children doing their Christmas program at church ~ and I see the Christmas season as an opportunity to share the love of Christ. During this season, I know that people will be rushing around here and there, shopping for just the right gifts, spending money, baking, cooking, being busy, busy, busy and becoming so involved with the "getting" and the "things" that they soon forget the real reason why Christmas is celebrated. In the Gospel of John ~ it tells us that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:14 So this Christmas season why not focus on Christ and His precious Word ~ the Word being living and active in all of our lives. Take a mental look and ask yourself if you are portraying Christ in your life ~ not only for Christmas ~ but for all of your life ~ your every day living. This season can be used to share the love of Christ with those who may be lonely, going through some very difficult times, discouraged, disenchanted, whatever the case may be. Take time to look around you and see where you can put Christ's love into action ~ does someone need a listening ear, an encouraging word, or is there someone who needs hope to be renewed in their heart? Maybe someone needs a meal brought to them; help in cleaning their home, or maybe someone needs a friend just to be there for them. Remember Jesus is the best gift of all ~ so let His light shine bright in your life. Let this Christmas season be your best one ever!!!!! |
